GAO chooses SMT Corp Labs to Inspect Internet-Purchased parts on behalf of SASC Investigation into Counterfeits in DoD Supply Chains:
- SMT's industry-leading component authentication lab was chosen by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to provide all testing services for their counterfeit part availability study on behalf of the SASC investigation into counterfeit parts within DoD supply chains.

August 2012 – Defense Logistics Agency Mandates DNA-Marking of all FSC 5962 Electronic Components:
- In 2011 SMT is the only volunteer to Applied DNA Sciences (ADNAS) to participate in LMI’s 18 month pilot program with DLA.
- In early 2012 SMT successfully DNA marks over 800 components for further test and screening evaluation.
- In September 2012 SMT is the 1st to contract with ADNAS to provide DNA-marking services in line with DLA’s new marking requirement.
