To track inventory movement through the warehouse, SMT utilizes the latest warehouse barcode scan system from “Symbol Technologies”. This software tracks bin locations, manufacturer, part number, FIFO layer, quantity, date codes, order numbers and customer internal part numbers. This system works both wireless and through a docking station for data acquisition redundancy. All scanned data is updated immediately on SMT’s system to provide real-time material location or movement history.
